THE CHOCOLATE KID

This is a character concept for a children's book that I'm starting to develop, in partnership with a writer. I'll be working with the writer and coming up with the proper layout and over all look of the book. So hopefully we'll be able to show some more stuff very soon, and possibly start on a few more book ideas over the next few months.

HELD CEL

Another tshirt contest , another tshirt design, another waste of time.

The winner of the latest contest will win 15,000 euros. The process for entering is you design, you submit your work and then it gets placed in a voting area where the public can vote, the design with the most votes and feed back, wins. I cant even make the voting stage which leaves me to believe these contests are regulated or controlled to keep with company "standards".

T-SHIRT DESIGN

This was designed for another t-shirt contest at lafraise.com "Vinyl kills mp3" was the theme. Your comments are more than welcome. For some reason this design was not selected or excepted into the voting area which has got me baffled. I would love to know why this image wont work as a t-shirt design? Any silk screening pros out there?

THE SCUGOG Pt.2

A process image from concept black & white to digital colour clean up in CS3. It took a few hours to get this put together, but it was fun. I got a lot on the go these days with odd jobs here and there, and cant wait to get into this 2009 fishing year. I guess a dream design job for me would be designing fishing lures for Strike King or Rapala, then testing them out...maybe one day?

Thanks for the kind words guys! This is a t-shirt vector design, for an online design comp... not sure which color to go with, it will be printed on a heather grey t-shirt? I liked Blue then Red, others said Yellow I'm starting to lean towards Yellow. April 6th is the deadline, for the BSV "re-animation" themed competition at lafraise.com check it out.

GREEN SKETCH

Sketch Book Pro (SBP) is a great affordable program for anyone who likes to draw, and save on the use of paper. Some one should be paying me to say this rubbish!

MURAL PART 1

This design was inspired by the 3D king Daim, who is one of the finest graff artists of our time. It was created in Sketch Book Pro and CS3, and for the purpose of selling the client on this style. If all goes well the mural will be painted inside of a private club/lounge.

LOCAL FALL FISHING

Local fall fishing has been great. Never thought there would be fish like this 10 mins from home. This older fellow showed me a few tricks in taking hooks out. If it wasn't for him this fish might not of made it back into the water.

THE SCUGOG

This is the one that got away. I've obtained a new program for digital painting called "Sketch Book Pro" you can really feel the benefits of a tablet when using it with this program. The Scugog or aka "Mr. Jangles" was my first attempt at using sketch book pro. The lighting effect was created using cs3

TOY DESIGN'

During the past week or so i came across an artist's blog, a great animation design artist i use to work with, named Mr. Crylic. He had posted on his blog, a toy design submission for a competition put on by Aarting Inc. There were many great design submissions entered, like pan-dah by crylic and ladybomb by mena, so i thought i'd give it a shot of my own. "Yukan" the northern kid, is a McCoy original design. The design with the most votes wins. If anyone has time www.aarting.com is where you can vote on your favourite design. Its real simple, go check it out.

UP NORTH

Northern Canada has great fish and some great people. These 2 pictures were taken on the way to fish our morning spot. They turned out blurry, making it look like a painting rather than a photo. I guess the next post will have to be some pictures of fish.

While recently going through some old jpeg files i came across the "ol' air brush hustle" thought I'd clean them up and post a few. Here's a commissioned air brushed pair of kicks for Andrea Lucchese. Done in 2000-2001.

Live Since '31

This was a commissioned t-shirt designed for a local pub. Done back well over the course of seven months. I finally got my hands on a digital camera, to capture this final product. The design was made using Flash, then sent off to be pressed front and back.
